4-19mm Colored Clear Tinted Float Tempered Building GlassProduct Description| Brief introduction: | Toughened glass is about four times as strong as annealed glass of the same type and thickness. When broken, toughened glass fragments are usually relatively small and less likely to cause serious injury, so it is classified as a safety glass. Architects may specify tempered glass for commercial or architectural projects, however, tempered glass may also be heat soak tested, in order to minimize the risk of spontaneous breakage.
Toughened glass cannot be cut or drilled after tempering and any alterations such as edge grinding, sand blasting or acid etching will weaken the glass and can cause premature failure. |
| Features: | 1. Safety: if breakage occurs the glass breaks up into small, cubical fragements, which are not threatening to human.
2. Stronger resistance to thermal breakage than annealed or heat strengthened glass
3. 4-5 times stronger than annealed glass of the same thickness.
4. It withstands abrupt temperature change of 220°C.
5. Sizes are produced per customer request, once tempered, cannot be cut down |
